Could it be Dyslexia?

Woman Working Thoughtfully

You may benefit from a dyslexia assessment if you or your child experience ongoing difficulties with reading, writing, spelling, or processing information.

This may include:

  • needing more time to read or complete written work

  • difficulty organising thoughts or structuring writing

  • challenges with memory, planning, or time management

  • underperforming despite real effort and ability

A diagnostic assessment provides a detailed understanding of how you process information. It identifies strengths as well as areas of difficulty and helps explain long-standing challenges.

What does a Diagnosis Mean?

A dyslexia diagnosis confirms the presence of a specific learning difficulty (SpLD) based on standardised assessment. It is not a label, it is an explanation for what you or your child have been struggling with.  For many, a diagnosis is a turning point, particularly if diagnosed later in life.

The report can be used to:

  • support applications for exam access arrangements

  • inform support in school, college or university

  • guide workplace adjustments

  • provide clarity and understanding

Not all assessments result in a diagnosis. But every assessment provides a detailed profile and practical recommendations for support.
